It is fair to start with this biographical film based on the life of celebrated cricketer MS Dhoni. With his charismatic personality and exceptional acting, Sushant too k the audience on a sentimental rollercoaster ride that is bound to change something in you.
The movie has been expressed wonderfully both in terms of storyline and performance. The talent needed to bring a personality like Dhoni on-screen was a really considerable task, and Sushant executed it incredibly.
There were times when the Indian captain needed to disguise his tears behind a robust disposition to never falter from his goal– and Sushant illustrated all of it competently.
2. Chhichhore
One of the films in the list of his highest-grossing movies, Chhichhore is another beautiful yet heart-breaking story that everyone should watch at least once!
Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Sharma, among others, the movie follows the story of Anirudh, played by Sushant, who faces a tragic event that forces him to recall his college days where he and his friends were tagged as the ‘losers.’
The film is an ode to university period romance, friendship, bullying, etc. Sushant Singh wonderfully blended the role of young and old Anirudh.
3. Sonchiriya
Set in the gorges of the Chambal Valley, the movie depicts the story of dacoits during the 1975s who named themselves ‘Baaghis.’
The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana, and Bhumi Pednekar–all of whom are outstanding actors.
The film was critically acclaimed, and Sushant played the role of ‘Lakhan’, an uncompromising and devoted human when it comes to his duties. His performance, along with Bhumi Padnekar, is worth watching!
4. P.K
Although his role is quite short in the movie, Sushant as Sarfaraz Yousuf gave a wonderful performance. If you have seen Dil Bechara, wait till you see the love-stricken side of Sushant in this movie!
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film also features Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan. The audience was fascinated by the shy and handsome look of the young actor. He has given the right amount of energy to display both his emotional and fun-loving side.
5. Kedarnath
Following the events of the 2013 Uttarakhand Floods, the romantic drama was released in 2018. It stars Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput, being the debut movie of the former.
The story is about a Muslim boy Mansoor Khan (Sushant Singh), an underprivileged porter, and Mukku Mishra (Sara Ali Khan), the daughter of a Hindu priest. As the two eventually fall in love, an act that is both heart-warming and entirely rebellious– they face hurdles from their families and a natural calamity.
Even with a somewhat average plot, the movie worked well because of the sheer splendidness demonstrated by both the protagonists. Sushant played his part well– always filled with energy and positivity; giving life to his role and hooking the audience to the movie.
