Before these, let us revisit some of the remarkable performances by Vikrant Massey!

1. Mirzapur

Although the Amazon Prime web series features an ensemble cast, Massey successfully created his position in the show. The web series has two seasons, and Massey was given ‘Babu’s role in the first season.

The audience certainly admired the performance of Massey in the series where he played the character with a backstory that goes like he was outstanding in studies and dreamt of a good life but later joined the illegal business to support his family, but his kind-heartedness was never lost. Massey amassed a lot of attention after the release of the web series.

2. Criminal Justice

Aditya, played by Vikrant Massey, is a person who does not think twice before helping people. He even encourages his father by assisting him in his cab service business– often running a taxi in the streets of Mumbai at night.

One night while he was on his duty, he found a phone of one of the passengers named Sanaya Reth. A string of events occurs that night, and Aditya finds himself waking up next to Sanaya, who is mysteriously murdered the very same night.

Aditya is perplexed and is unable to recall if he murdered the woman. The screenplay and the cast featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Madhurima Roy, Anupriya Goenka, and Jackie Shroff make the series worth watching! Vikrant Massey was praised for his remarkable character in the web series.

3. Chhapaak

Inspired by the life of Laxmi Agarwal, Chhapaak is a story of a woman who withstood an acid attack and soon emerged to be an inspiration for all women across the country.

Deepika Padukone plays the role of ‘Malti’ whose journey is a fictionalized summary of Laxmi’s story. Even though the central theme of the movie remains the horrific trial acid attack survivors have to go through – Vikrant’s supporting role as Amol, who runs an NGO for such survivors and also as a person who encourages Malti in her fight for justice, becomes an important element of the story.

Chhapaak, with its own story, is a remarkable and heart-wrenching movie with terrific skills showcased by Deepika. Vikrant Massey also did justice to his character and again proved that even in his supporting role– he would catch the viewers’ attention.

4. A Death in the Gunj

This Drama film is set in McCluskieganj, a town in Jharkhand located 40 miles away from the capital city. It was once famous for its Anglo-Indian community, which has significantly declined over the years.

The story is centered around 23-year-old pupil Shutu (Vikrant Massey) battling on many fronts. From identifying his sexuality to combatting his depression, he has many battles to conquer. Shutu is the center of mockery of his family, and his character makes the movie layered.

It features an ensemble cast including Vikrant Massey, Tillotama Shome, Om Puri, Tanuja, Gulshan Devaiah, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, and Ranvir Shorey.

Once again, Vikrant gave an impressive performance and was able to overshadow other characters deftly. It was his debut film, and from the very beginning, Massey proved his capability of acting.
