We’re bound to see things we’ve never seen before when we travel to a new location. We eat new things, do new things, and have experiences we wouldn’t have at home, but we recognise when things aren’t normal.
Whether it’s due to conspiracy theories or science fiction films, there are some things that travellers have seen that aren’t quite right.
It’s a great sensation when we come across an unexpected circumstance or encounter. It often leads to fond memories; nevertheless, the photographs below demonstrate that some things aren’t meant to be viewed with the naked eye.
It might be that they were at the wrong place at the wrong time or that they were exactly where they were supposed to be.

1. Scary Family Dinner
The Copper family moves into their new home and takes a family shot, according to the limited information known about this photograph.
The snapshot shows a body dropping from the ceiling after it has been developed.
2. Babushka Lady
A woman is captured on film and appears in numerous images during President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963.
While others flee for safety, she seems to be shooting shots of her own. The FBI looked for the woman, but she was never identified or photographed.
3. Ghostly Hand
A photograph taken at Linen Mill in Northern Ireland shows fifteen young female workers posing with their arms crossed over their chests. The strange portion is, however, a mysterious hand.
This girl’s neck is wrapped around her shoulder by an elongated claw-like hand. Whose hand was it on a girl standing at the front, at the end of the row, since all the girls’ hands were tucked behind their arms?
The photographer’s source is reported to be a lady who submitted it to a website. Her grandmother was included in the group memory, she stated. She did, however, point out that it was also a family ghost photograph.
It’s unclear whether a ghost was watching the workers or if the incident resulted from a brilliant deception. You can keep wondering because the truth behind this inexplicable mystery is unlikely to be discovered.
4. The Birds
It’s not a surprise when someone looks out their window and sees a bird or two hanging out on a telephone wire.
Birds are creatures that are constantly in the movie, and often, they’re travelling in packs; but what this person caught on camera is beyond.
Apparently, hundreds of crows thought this neighbourhood was a swell place to stop and rest and probably scared a few people in the process.
5. Spaceman
This photograph, shot over 60 years ago in Cumbria, England, shows a spaceman-like figure behind Elizabeth Templeton.
“We went on a routine outing and picked our area,” her father, Jim, told the BBC. “We sat down, and I said, ‘Now I’ll capture some shots of you in your new outfit,’ not expecting anything like this to happen.”
Mr Templeton even alleged that two unidentified government officials later visited him.
While the photo sparked a UFO controversy at the time, expert Dr David Clarke told the BBC that he believes the girls’ mother accidentally wandered into the photograph and was captured standing behind her daughter.
6. The Hook Island Sea Monster
This huge tadpole-like creature, Australia’s version of the Loch Ness Monster, was allegedly seen lurking beneath the surface in Stonehaven Bay, Whitsundays, Queensland, in 1964. It was captured by Frenchman Robert Le Serrec, who was in a speedboat with his family at the time.
When they stopped to examine, the creature, which they estimated to be more than 20 metres long, proceeded towards them, according to accounts.
According to a Scientific American investigation, Serrec attempted to sell the images in the United States. He claimed the creature had no teeth but had eyes on the top of its head.
It has mostly been dismissed as a forgery made out of plastic sheets. Others claim it’s a shoal of fish crammed into a small space.
7. Girl In The Fire
An apparition of a tiny girl – standing behind a rail and surrounded by flames – was purportedly captured on camera as a town hall was being destroyed by fire.
Tony O’Rahilly, a sewage farmworker and avid photographer, took a photograph while standing across the road from a crowd watching the 90-year-old building in Wem, Shropshire, burn down in November 1995.
8. The Skunk Ape
According to most sources, the Myakka Skunk Ape is related to Bigfoot. This big ape-like monster has been seen numerous times over the years, with the first reports dating back to the 1960s, but it has lately been caught on tape multiple times.
The Skunk Ape is predominantly found in Florida, and its name comes from the stench that typically accompanies its encounters.
The sightings are more likely to be misidentified as other wildlife, such as local black bears, according to sceptics.
Similar to Bigfoot film, Skunk Ape recordings and images are frequently unsteady, low-quality, or shot from a great distance.
9. The Tara Calico Polaroid
Tara Calico took her Walkman with her on a bike trip along a New Mexico highway. Sadly, Tara vanished during her morning ritual. In Belen, New Mexico, the remains of her Walkman were discovered broken on the side of a sandy road.
A polaroid snapshot was discovered a few months later in a remote community in the Florida Panhandle. A photograph oozing with ominous connotations…
