Pettigrew rejoins the Dark Lord years later, which proves to be his undoing. Peter grabs Harry as he and his companions flee Malfoy Manor, but loosens his grip when reminded of his life obligation. At the perceived treachery, his silver hand—gifted to him by Voldemort following the Dark Lord’s resurrection—puts an end to his life. Peter’s death is, in a strange manner, the result of Voldemort and Harry cooperating.

2. Harry’s Alliance With Dobby Brings Lucius Malfoy Down

To destroy Arthur Weasley’s reputation, Lucius Malfoy places Tom Riddle’s journal among Ginny Weasley’s luggage in Harry’s second year. As Riddle’s shadow occupies Ginny and unleashes the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, the journal is revealed to be a Horcrux, causing a wave of petrification throughout the school.
