Happy Birthday Harry: A Heartfelt Letter

31st July, the day when Harry Potter was born and the most magistic tale in the whole wizarding world took birth. We, at BuzzPedia, decided to celebrate Harry's special day in our own style by writing a heartfelt letter to him. Because we believe letters hold magic that touches heart and never dies.

Dear Harry,

Happy Birthday! It’s been 15 years since I first saw you, and since then, you have been one of my most favourite fictional characters. You were everything our typical Hero has, but your journey at Hogwarts was still different in so many ways. You taught me that money and fame aren’t everything and that family is something that brings you the kind of happiness that no worldly thing has the power to bring. From the beginning, you knew that a loving family like Ron’s needs to be more valued than a vault full of gold galleons. You were so clear in your thought that when you looked into the Mirror of Erised, you didn’t see a wealthy or successful self but instead a smiling self-standing amidst all his family members. You taught me to value friendship because it is what we can call our chosen family, where we find love, sometimes purer and truer than blood relations.

Happy Birthday Harry: A Heartfelt Letter

But more than anything, you taught me to never give up. There were so many hard times in your life, but you didn’t succumb to them. You kept on trying with utmost faith in yourself and the trust your loved ones showed in you. You didn’t let their love down, Harry. And, I feel this is the most inspiring thing about you. Throughout your journey, you had loved ones helping you going forward, but in the end, it was only you who had to fight Voldemort; that was the time when you showed your truest strength. You could have given up even then, but you chose not to. You knew everyone was counting upon you, and so, you fought! You fought alone and destroyed Voldemort.

Even before that, when you and Hermione went in the past using the time turner necklace, and dementors attacked you, you saved yourself using the Patronus charm, there you taught me that nobody but only you can save yourself in the times which seems the darkest. You can’t rely on others all the time; friends and family, no matter how much they love you, can’t help you all the time. In the end, we have to fight our battles alone. You showed that doing that isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.

I can perhaps go on and on about the things you have taught me, but I should stop and end this letter now. But not before telling you that you and your tale have brought me a world that feels truer by every revisit. You have given me memories which I can call my own; I feel I’m a part of your world, Harry. You have made Hogwarts a home for me, and for this, I will never leave you alone. You’ll always find me by your side, rooting for you.

I’ll keep coming back to you in both my happy and sad times.

Until next time, Harry.

Much love from a witch in a parallel world.

Our beloved Harry shares his birthday with our favorite author, J. K. Rowling. And there’s something we wish to tell her as well.

Dear Rowling,

Thank you for introducing the wizarding world and the golden trio to me. Thank you for making me believe in magic (though my wand doesn’t work like those in your wizarding world) and teaching me that the real magic is love, which comes to us in all shapes and sizes, and that with love, you can achieve anything in this whole wide world. Happy Birthday!

Love,

A grateful fan.
