Happy Birthday To India’s Most Loved Comedian: Zakir Khan

Where’s the Sakht Army at? It’s our leader’s day and our chance to express what he truly means in our lives. Here’s a little fan letter for Zakir Khan on his special day.

What has not been said about Zakir Khan already that needs to be stated? He’s a Comedian, Poet, Youtuber, Writer turned Actor, part-time Sitar player, and full-time leader of the youth. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the youth has found in him a ‘guru’ like no other.

He’s one of those personalities who are too talented to be true but also someone who is extremely relatable. He strikes an instant connection with his audience through his anecdotal comedy which not only leaves you in splits but also makes you think deeply about life and its challenges.

His is a style unique to himself. Apart from millions of views on his videos, the fan following is very real and on the ground.

So here’s a letter to the comedian who receives a standing ovation even before his performance:

Dearest Zakir Bhai,

I am sure I am not the first person to call you ‘brother’. That’s simply because you give off the vibe of someone who I can approach in any situation. And I need not mention the numerous times when your words actually have done that to me. I mean if I were to count, what all should I include?

Should I count the time when I was feeling extremely low and I felt like I had hit rock bottom and your poem ‘Main Shoonya Pe Sawaar Hun’ helped me bounce back?

Or the time when my heart was shattered into a million pieces and I could barely just pick them up and fill the hollowness and how your words, ‘Bewajeh Bewafaaon ko Yaad kiya hai, Ghalat login pe bahut waqt barbaad kiya hai’ helped me think better of myself?

Or the time when the gloominess of uncertainty had taken over all my senses and I put on your stand-up special ‘Haq Se Single’ and felt like my fighting spirit had found a way back?

Or the time when I was too bored and felt like I was missing out on so much and how your show ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare’ gave me a hearty laugh?

Or the time when I had moved into a new city right after my high school and I was seeking a feeling of comfort familiar to home which I eventually found in ‘Kaksha Gyarvi’ back in 2018?

Or the time when I had made just one friend in the new city and the reason we clicked was that we both were your fans?

Or the times when I need the inspiration to write and I turn back to your numerous interviews and videos at spoken fests?

Or the times when I just don’t feel like getting up and I put on any of your bits (for the hundredth time probably) and spring back to life?

What should I count, when I begin to thank you? I guess I’ll never know.

Happy Birthday!

With lots of love and gratitude,

Proud Sakht Army member.

P.s. – Badal bohot important hain aur yeh Muskaan ki chamkaan humesha pighla hi deti hai.
