Creator of the Potter-verse, J.K. Rowling who is once again knee-deep in the twitter transphobe scandal responds to the criticism in her 4000-word blog on Wednesday.

Critics have deemed her stance on the transgender community as transphobic and the blog to be a sad attempt at salvaging herself amongst the pouring hate messages from the extremist trans activists.

Her fight is against the new age trans activism that deems sex to be unreal. The author runs a charitable trust which emphasises on women and children and funds medical research for a disease that behaves very differently for men and women.

“It’s been clear to me for a while that the new trans activism is having a significant impact on many of the causes I support because it’s pushing to erode the legal definition of sex and replace it with gender”, the 58-year-old author further added.

Being an ex-educator and charity she is interested in ‘education and safeguarding’ and believes the trans rights movement is going to have an impact on both.

According to Rowling, this ideology is going to further gender dysphoria amongst our teens who anyway 60-90% of the time grow out of it.

The author admits feeling ‘sexless’ in her youth while reading about gender identity theories. In the blog, she also came out with her account of abuse not to fetch attention but to elaborate on how her opinion and interests stemmed from a complex backstory.

Several actors from Rowling’s wizarding world have responded to the author’s opinion.

Radcliffe in an open letter published by The Trevor Project addressed the controversy. Starting off by thanking the author for giving him his career he respectfully started providing facts to counter her opinion.

“To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you. If these books taught you that love is the strongest force

in the universe … then that is between you and the book that you read, and it is sacred”.

Emma Watson, a well-celebrated actress in the industry addressed the issue in her tweet saying-

Rowling in her final tweets on the issue did address her trans followers and said she respected and loved them yet she continues to receive hate from the trans community, activists, and celebrities.
