India's best known gamers include Mortal, Total Gaming, CarryMinati, Dynamo Gaming and 8bit Thug.Total Gaming became the first Indian gaming YouTuber to reach 40 million subscribers, in February 2024.Mortal won Esports Content Creator of the Year at the Esports Awards 2024.Most of these creators grew through PUBG Mobile and later BGMI, which returned in India in 2023.

The top 10 gamers of India right now are Mortal, Total Gaming, CarryMinati, Dynamo Gaming, 8bit Thug, Regaltos, Techno Gamerz, ScoutOP, 8bit Mamba and Owais. Most of them rose through PUBG Mobile and BGMI, and today they are as much entertainers and business owners as they are players.

When this list first ran in 2021, PUBG Mobile was the centre of Indian gaming. Since then BGMI, its Indian version, was blocked in July 2022 and returned in 2023. Many players have moved from pro play to full-time streaming, and groups like S8UL have become media companies.

The rules have changed too. In August 2025, Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, which banned real-money gaming but recognised esports as a legitimate competitive sport. For creators who play skill games like BGMI and Free Fire, that was good news.

Here is who matters in Indian gaming in 2026, and why.

Quick facts: Indian gaming creators

Gamer Real name Known for
Mortal Naman Mathur BGMI, S8UL co-founder
Total Gaming Ajendra Variya (Ajju Bhai) Free Fire
CarryMinati Ajey Nagar Roasts, CarryisLive streams
Dynamo Gaming Aaditya Sawant BGMI streams
8bit Thug Animesh Agarwal S8UL co-founder

Top 10 gamers of India in 2026

1. Mortal (Naman Mathur)

Mortal is the face of Indian mobile gaming. He debuted as a PUBG Mobile pro in 2018, founded Soul Esports and co-founded the creator group S8UL. He was known for an aggressive, rush-style game.

He has since retired from competitive play to focus on streams and content. At the Esports Awards 2024 he won Esports Content Creator of the Year, his first win after several near misses. His YouTube channel has more than 7 million subscribers.

2. Total Gaming (Ajju Bhai)

Total Gaming is the biggest gaming channel in India, built on Garena Free Fire videos. For years the creator hid his face and went only by Ajju Bhai.

He finally revealed his face and real name, Ajendra Variya, in a video on 30 December 2023. On 29 February 2024 he became the first Indian gaming YouTuber to reach 40 million subscribers.

3. CarryMinati (Ajey Nagar)

Ajey Nagar from Faridabad is better known for roasts and comedy, but gaming is a big part of his output. His second channel, CarryisLive, carries his gaming streams and had about 12 million subscribers as of January 2026.

His main channel had about 45 million subscribers at the same time. In 2023 he also bought a stake in the esports company Big Bang Esports.

4. Dynamo Gaming (Aaditya Sawant)

Dynamo started with mobile games like Mini Militia before PUBG Mobile made him one of India’s most watched streamers. His calm commentary and sharp aim built a very loyal audience.

He has stayed a BGMI streamer since the game’s return and remains one of the most recognised names in the scene.

5. 8bit Thug (Animesh Agarwal)

Thug was a competitive player and clan leader before he moved to the business side. He is a co-founder of S8UL, which has won Esports Content Group of the Year at the Esports Awards three years in a row.

When Mortal could not attend the 2024 ceremony, Thug collected the award on his behalf.

6. Regaltos (Parv Singh)

Regaltos made his name in the Soul clan with smart, strategic play and four-finger claw controls. Many players learnt the game by watching his rotations and positioning.

He is part of the S8UL family and keeps a strong following for his BGMI and variety streams.

7. Techno Gamerz (Ujjwal Chaurasia)

Techno Gamerz is a new addition to this list, and an overdue one. Ujjwal Chaurasia built one of India’s largest gaming channels with story-driven GTA V and Minecraft series in Hindi.

His audience skews young, and his videos regularly rank among the most watched gaming content in India.

8. ScoutOP

Scout was one of the most influential PUBG Mobile pros in India and played for Team Fnatic in the game’s early competitive years. His reading of the game and calm leadership made him a fan favourite.

Like many of his peers, he now spends more time creating content and streaming than playing tournaments.

9. 8bit Mamba (Salman Ahmad)

Mamba became popular for mixing PUBG Mobile gameplay with humour. His streams feel like hanging out with friends, which is why his audience stuck around even as games changed.

10. Owais

Owais played for Team Fnatic and became known on YouTube for his Solo vs Squad videos, where he took on full four-player teams alone. Those clips are still a big part of why fans remember him.

Who missed out

We removed Gunshot from the original 2021 list because we could not confirm his current activity. Other names worth following include Payal Gaming and Jonathan Gaming, who have both grown big BGMI audiences.
