6. Khauf (Prime Video)

Khauf, released on 18 April 2025, is an eight-episode horror series created by Smita Singh, one of the writers of Sacred Games. Monika Panwar plays Madhuri, a young woman from Gwalior who moves into a Delhi women’s hostel and is given a room that has stayed locked since a former resident died.

The show mixes supernatural scares with the everyday harassment women face in the city. Rajat Kapoor and Geetanjali Kulkarni are also part of the cast.

What the 2025 list tells us

Seven of the ten shows are crime, police or spy stories. Netflix had five titles in the list, Prime Video had three and JioHotstar had two. Returning franchises like Paatal Lok, Panchayat, Special Ops, The Family Man and Criminal Justice took half the spots, which shows how much Indian viewers stick with shows they already trust.
