Ramayana: Part 1 has crossed Rs 10.5 crore in gross advance bookings for its opening day in India, more than a week before it reaches theatres on 5 November 2026. The Nitesh Tiwari film, with Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, holds its world premiere tonight at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, and the trade is now watching whether the pre-sales can turn into a Rs 60-70 crore start.
Ramayana advance booking: the numbers so far
Bookings opened on Dussehra, and the film collected Rs 5.44 crore gross (including blocked seats) in the first 24 hours, according to Sacnilk. By 10 am on 23 October that had grown to Rs 8.27 crore from 1.47 lakh tickets across 3,964 shows in 121 cities.
The latest Sacnilk update, from the evening of 24 October, puts opening day gross at Rs 10.50 crore across 4,439 shows. These figures include block bookings, which Sacnilk says made up about 24% of the gross on 23 October, down from about 34% on the first day. That drop matters, because it means genuine walk-in demand is growing faster than bulk bookings.

Runtime and certificate
Ramayana: Part 1 reportedly runs 3 hours 15 minutes, which makes it one of the longest big Indian releases of the year. A social media update suggested a U certificate for the full film, but as of 21 October public CBFC records confirmed U only for the promotional material, including the July trailer. In the US, the film has a PG-13 rating for strong violence and action and some bloody images.
Paid previews are planned for 4 November, a day before the official release.
Tonight’s world premiere in Los Angeles
The invite-only premiere is set for the evening of 27 October (US time) at the David Geffen Theatre inside the Academy Museum, screened in 3D. The Hollywood Reporter India said the 945-seat auditorium was expected to be full. The film is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, with music by Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman. Sony Pictures handles distribution outside India.
What the trade expects on day one
Sacnilk reports that a Rs 70 crore India net opening is being discussed in trade circles, though it calls that figure ambitious; a Rs 60 crore start would still be a strong base. Overseas, the film shares premium screens with Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero, which opens in North America on 6 November. In India, Ramayana has the big screens largely to itself.
