Emma Watson has opened up about the day she ‘simply fell in love with Tom Felton, her Harry Potter co-star. Emma also told how she would check every day to see if he was on set. Tom also admitted that he was aware of her crush on him and that he became “very protective” of her.
Emma Watson*–*recalls how she first fell in love with actor Tom Felton when he played Draco Malfoy, the evil blonde Slytherin in the Harry Potter series. We couldn’t get enough of the pale platinum blond bully, despite our allegiances to Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Watson), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), and all Gryffindors.
On January 1, 2022, on HBO Max, Emma Watson and Tom Felton will appear in a special reunion episode titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. The episode will be available on Amazon Prime Video in India. Emma played Hermione Granger in the movie, while Tom played Draco Malfoy, one of the antagonists.
The Harry Potter cast, including Emma Watson and Tom Felton, has been the subject of relationship rumours for years. Despite Felton’s knowledge of Watson’s crush on him, the two admit in the special that they never dated.
“I walked into the room where we were having tutoring,” Emma told ET Canada at the reunion. The task was to depict what you felt God looked like, and Tom had drawn a lady on a skateboard wearing a backward cap. And—I don’t know how else to put it—I’ve fallen in love with him. Every day, I would come in and look for his number on the call sheet; it was number seven, and if his name was on the call sheet, it would be an extra exciting day. He was three years above me and so for him, he was like, ‘You’re like my little sister’.”
“I suppose I was in the hair and make-up chair and someone remarked something along the lines of, ‘Yeah, she had a crush on you,'” Tom Felton said. I developed a strong protective instinct for her. Yes, I’ve always had a sweet spot for her, and that still exists now,” he continued. “There’s always been something, I don’t know, a sense of kinship.”
Apart from Emma and Tom, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, as well as other cast members and filmmakers, will gather to commemorate the franchise’s 20th anniversary. In the reunion episode, Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) will also appear.
