1. Pink (2016)

The third film of Taapsee’s career, Pink, garnered a massive following and was also critically acclaimed. It is a courtroom drama directed by Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary.

The film follows three girls who meet three influential boys and agree to have drinks together. Something out of the ordinary transpires that night, leaving one of the boys bleeding and the other three girls with an indictment of being prostitutes who allegedly blackmailed the three boys.

The character Taapsee took was wonderfully brought on-screen and her theatrical skills were exquisitely portrayed.

It stars features an ensemble cast,  including Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Tushar Pandey, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee. A compelling and thought-provoking film with an insightful screenplay, Pink is worth watching.

2. Mulk (2018)

Another courtroom film that envelops a social issue, Mulk is about a man and a family trying to revive their lost honor after one of their members becomes entangled in terrorism.

When you have a screenplay developed by Anubhav Sinha, it is an indication that the movie is going to be a masterpiece, and Mulk is no different.

Starring Rishi Kapoor as Murad Ali Mohammad, a law-abiding citizen whose nephew joined a terrorist group and Taapsee Pannu as Aarti– the daughter-in-law of Murad– Mulk has managed to illustrate Islamophobia in an excellent manner.

When nobody comes forward to help Murad in his fight against the false accusations, Aarti prepares herself to absolve her family from all the charges. Mulk demonstrates the bitter reality with an angle that bolsters an unbiased impression.

Taapsee’s performance as a lawyer is filled with courage and vigor, taking the whole film skillfully on her shoulders.

3. Badla (2019)

Bringing back the duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, the most exciting facet of the movie is its intriguing storyline and an equally captivating screenplay.

The story follows an interview between a lawyer and a businesswoman, in which the woman explains her story that she is wrongfully framed for the murder of her lover.

The movie is far from being predictable and is bound to keep the audience guessing.

A remake of the Spanish movie ‘The Invisible Guest’, both Amitabh and Taapsee gave a remarkable performance in the film.

IMDb

If we have to choose one performance that can overpower all others– it is pretty impossible. Taapsee has offered us so many tremendous performances and what’s more is that in each of her roles, we get to see a different side of Taapsee.

4. Saand Ki Aankh (2019)

Based on the life of sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, the biographical film is directed by Tushar Hiranandani. It features Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Padnekar, and Prakash Jha in the leading roles.

Taapsee plays the role of Prakashi Tomar– and a biopic is always a wonderful opportunity for an actor to showcase their skills. A movie that won her Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress, Saand Ki Aaankh, is another testimony of the talent possessed by Pannu.

5. Thappad (2020)

Thappad expresses the story of Amrita Sandhu and Vikram Sabharwal– married long ago and living a happy life. Amrita’s entire world revolves around her husband. She is a perfect homemaker who spends most of her time looking after him and the house.

However, an incident takes place that changes their lives forever. In a party hosted to celebrate Vikram’s promotion, he receives a call informing him that his position has been compromised.

Outraged, Vikram gets into a fight with a superior, and when Amrita tries to stop them– Vikram slaps her.

Whether it is an independent girl shamed by society, a businesswoman framed for a murder, a daughter-in-law deciding to become a lawyer to protect her family, or a wife on her venture to find her actual value in her husband’s home, Taapsee’s versatility cannot be appreciated in a few sentences.
