Night Sky follows the story of two old couples who find a portal to another world in their backyard. The short series shows how they try to protect the area while keeping it a secret.
2. Predestination
Based on a short story written by Robert A. Heinlein, Predestination is a film that shows the story of an agent whose last mission involves preventing a bombing.
Sounds easy, right? However, the agent has to travel back in time to prevent the incident and thus faces several challenges on his path, making it seem impossible. Ethan Hawke also catches the attention of the audience with his thrilling performance.
3. Undone
Another series revolving around time travel, Undone is the first-ever adult animated series on Prime Video.
The story explores the life of a woman who has to encounter a near-death experience, but later finds a new bond with time when she takes this chance to find out the truth about her father’s death.
It has all the elements of sci-fi that fanatics love- parallel reality, time travel, and an alternate universe. The psychological aspects of Undone are also remarkable.
4. Tales from the Loop
Inspired by the masterpieces of artwork by Simon Stålenhag, Tales from the Loop is set in a town that is specially built to experience things that are beyond science and logic.
Discovering the mysteries of this world, this short series is for people who do not allow realistic aspects to hinder their dreams.
When you see the show, you will wonder if all of us are just a part of a social experience. Although it is a fascinating watch for adults, some children may find the content to be disturbing.
5. The Expanse
Spreading across six enormous seasons, The Expanse is not similar to anything you’ve watched before.
It is set in a world where the people of planet Earth have colonized the entire universe, bringing everything under their control with the UN Security Council at its head.
If you think the world politics on Earth is perplexing, imagine the politics of the entire universe with several powers at play. The series is based on a novel series written by James S. A. Corey.
6. Source Code
Not a good watch if you have only 2 brain cells left late at night. Source Code is a sci-fi movie featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, who takes the role of a pilot in the U.S. Army with a mysterious mission involving the discovery behind the bombing of a train within eight minutes.
Now the crazy part is that Gyllenhaal has been transported into another person’s body who died in that incident. Not a movie you see every day, Source Code is an interesting watch with a complex plot.
7. 10 Cloverfield Lane
Suppose you are someone who likes movies with small spaces set in rooms or similar areas. In that case, 10 Cloverfield Lane doesn’t have big themes- it shows the story of Michelle, who is stuck in a bunker with a stranger who is trying to convince her that the world outside has become catastrophic and that she is safe inside the space.
Confused about reality, Michelle plans to escape. This movie can keep you hooked to the screen, and if you are a thriller fan, do check it out.
8. Ex Machina
Starring talented actors like Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson, Ex Machina shows the life of a young programmer who is funded by a billionaire to be a part of a strange experiment where he is supposed to interact with a female robot.
This movie reinforces the concept that the robots designed by us will be the end of us.
