The best Mirzapur 2 dialogues belong to Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Tripathi, Guddu Pandit and Bauji, and fans still quote them six years after the season arrived on Amazon Prime Video on 23 October 2020. Below are 20 lines that defined the season, each with a simple English meaning and who says it.

Mirzapur 2 at a glance

Mirzapur Season 2 is the second chapter of Excel Entertainment’s crime drama set in the badlands of Purvanchal. Pankaj Tripathi plays Akhandanand “Kaleen Bhaiya” Tripathi, Ali Fazal plays Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu plays Munna Tripathi.

Shweta Tripathi Sharma returns as Golu Gupta, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi and Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Bauji. The season is about Guddu and Golu’s revenge for the deaths of Bablu and Sweety, and Munna’s hunger for the throne. All three seasons stream on Prime Video in India.

20 best Mirzapur 2 dialogues

1. “Hindi philam ke hero hain hum, humein koi nahi maar sakta, hum amar hain.”

Said by: Munna Tripathi. Meaning: I am a Hindi film hero, nobody can kill me, I am immortal. Munna says this with full swagger, and the line became darkly ironic once the season ended.

2. “Jeet ki guarantee tabhi hai jab jeet aur haar dono tumhare control mein ho.”

Said by: Bauji (Satyanand Tripathi). Meaning: victory is guaranteed only when both winning and losing are in your control. Bauji’s cold logic sums up how the Tripathi family plays politics.

3. “Taqleef unki nahi jo chale jaate hain, taqleef unki hoti hai jo peeche reh jaate hain.”

Said by: Lala. Meaning: the pain is not for those who leave, it is for those left behind. A rare quiet moment from the opium trader in a season full of noise.

4. “Sab jagah ki shaadi mein DJ chalta hai, lekin humare UP ki shaadi mein goli chalti hai.”

Said by: Chief Minister Surya Pratap Yadav. Meaning: everywhere else weddings have a DJ, in UP weddings have gunfire. A sharp line on the gun culture the show is built around.

5. “Hum hain rajneta, chutiya banana humara kaam hai.”

Said by: JP Yadav. Meaning: we are politicians, fooling people is our job. JP Yadav says out loud what most of Mirzapur’s politicians only think.

6. “Jo aaya hai, wo jayega bhi, bas marzi humari hogi.”

Said by: Kaleen Bhaiya. Meaning: whoever comes will also go, but only when I decide. Pankaj Tripathi delivers it in his trademark calm, which makes it scarier.

7. “Gaddi pe chaahe hum rahein ya Munna, niyam same hoga.”

Said by: Kaleen Bhaiya. Meaning: whether I sit on the throne or Munna does, the rules stay the same. The line sets up the power tussle between father and son.

8. “Aur hum ek naya niyam add kar rahe hain, Mirzapur ki gaddi pe baithne wala kabhi bhi niyam badal sakta hai.”

Said by: Munna Tripathi. Meaning: I am adding a new rule, whoever sits on the Mirzapur throne can change the rules any time. Munna’s reply shows how badly he wants the gaddi.

9. “Aap humko ghar ki ownership samjha rahe hain, humein to pura sheher lena hai.”

Said by: Guddu Pandit. Meaning: you are explaining house ownership to me, I want the whole city. Guddu’s ambition after his return is bigger than revenge.

10. “Aap hi ka mann tha na ki aapki beti Mirzapur pe raaj kare, badi na sahi choti karegi.”

Said by: Golu Gupta. Meaning: you wanted your daughter to rule Mirzapur, if not the elder then the younger will. Golu’s transformation from librarian to fighter peaks here.

11. “Bablu aur Sweety ka udhaar hai humpe, chukana hai.”

Said by: Guddu Pandit. Meaning: I owe a debt to Bablu and Sweety, and I have to repay it. The line keeps the season’s revenge track personal.

12. “Guddu Pandit aa gaye hain, murjhayenge nahi.”

Said by: Guddu Pandit. Meaning: Guddu Pandit is here, and he will not wilt. The most quoted line of the season, and a fan favourite for reels and memes.

13. “Jab qurbani dene ka time aaye to qurbani sipahi ki di jaati hai.”

Said by: Munna Tripathi. Meaning: when it is time for a sacrifice, it is the soldier who is sacrificed. Munna adds that the king and prince stay alive to sit on the throne.

14. “Jaati pratha kaahe banayi gayi, isiliye na ki power hamesha hum Brahmano ke haath mein rahe.”

Said by: Bauji. Meaning: why was the caste system made, so that power always stays with us Brahmins. The line shows how the show uses Bauji to expose old prejudice.

15. “Bauji pagla gaye hain, unka dimaag unke ghutno mein hai.”

Said by: Munna Tripathi. Meaning: Bauji has gone mad, his brain is in his knees. Munna then adds that the knees do not work either, a typical Divyenndu punchline.

16. “Vyapaar jab bhi karo, to jo do kaano ke beech mein hai uska istemaal karo.”

Said by: Dadda Tyagi. Meaning: whenever you do business, use what is between your two ears. Dadda Tyagi’s advice to his sons is practical and blunt.

17. “Tumhare baap ne bhi humein maa ki gaali di thi, woh bhi pele gaye.”

Said by: Guddu Pandit. Meaning: your father also abused my mother, and he was finished too. Guddu’s warnings in Season 2 are short and violent.

18. “Aurat chahe Chambal ki ho ya Purvanchal ki, jab gun uthaayi hai to matlab dikkat mein hai.”

Said by: The doctor’s wife. Meaning: whether a woman is from Chambal or Purvanchal, if she has picked up a gun, she is in trouble. A small role with one of the season’s sharpest lines.

19. “Kuch log bahubali paida hote hain, aur kuch ko banana padta hai.”

Said by: Kaleen Bhaiya. Meaning: some are born strongmen, others have to be made. Kaleen Bhaiya says this while grooming the next in line, which tells you how he sees power.

20. “Humara updesh ek hi hai, jaan se maarenge.”

Said by: Guddu Pandit. Meaning: I have only one sermon, I will kill. Guddu adds that only by killing can he live, which is the whole of his Season 2 arc in one line.

Why these lines still work

Mirzapur’s writing keeps dialogues short and local. Most lines mix Hindi, Bhojpuri flavour and a little English, which makes them easy to repeat. They also carry character: Kaleen Bhaiya speaks softly and threatens, Munna jokes and threatens, and Guddu simply threatens.

Season 2 also ends with Guddu shooting Munna dead, which gave Munna’s “hum amar hain” line an extra layer. That ending is why so many of these quotes went viral again when Season 3 arrived.

Where the Mirzapur story stands in 2026

Season 3 released on Prime Video on 5 July 2024 and moved the story into Guddu and Beena’s fight for the throne. The franchise then went to cinemas with Mirzapur: The Movie, directed by Gurmmeet Singh, which released in theatres on 4 September 2026.

The film is set during the timeline of the first season, which is how Divyenndu returns as Munna. Jitendra Kumar plays Bablu Pandit in the film, replacing Vikrant Massey. As of early October 2026, the makers had not announced an official OTT date, though reports expect it on Prime Video.

On the series side, Gurmmeet Singh told Variety India in July 2026 that the script for Season 4 is being written. No release window has been announced. Find more dialogue lists in our listicles section and Hindi film coverage under Bollywood.
