Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of music itself, Kishore Kumar was no less than the King of a melodious voice. Hailing from Madhya Pradesh at the time when India was in the clutches of a foreign rule, ‘Abhas’ Kumar who soon changed his name to ‘Kishore’ Kumar was offered a golden opportunity to enter the world of Indian industry through his brother Ashok Kumar, who was an actor. Beginning his career as a chorus singer in Bombay Talkies, his debut film was Shikari alongside his brother.
Between 1946 and 1955 Kishore appeared in 22 movies out of which 16 flopped. A long way to success, Kumar finally accomplished recognition between 1955 and 1966. He soon made his name with the films that have earned a cult following like Half Ticket, Tamasha, Miss Mary, and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
