Microsoft also produced the Xbox, which has become one of, if not the most, popular game systems on the planet.
Bill is chock-full of nuggets of wisdom. So, here are ten plays from his playbook that we can use.
1. Dream Big
Few people are aware that Microsoft’s big break came as a result of Bill Gates lying. Gates contacted MITS in 1975 and informed them that he had created a rudimentary interpreter for their computers. MITS was eager to view the software, but Gates and his programming buddy Paul Allen hadn’t finished it yet.

As a result, Gates and Allen rushed to create it, presenting it to MITS in a matter of weeks and making their first sale. Only a month later, Microsoft was created, pressuring Gates to provide more than he’d ever demonstrated he was capable of.
2. Start At The Earliest
Bill Gates’ first secret to success is to get started as soon as feasible. Bill Gates began working with computers when he was just 13 years old. When you begin something at a young age, your entire life is formed around it.
You’ll not only have a better chance of succeeding sooner than most individuals, but you’ll also be less likely to give up.
If you start working on a desire while you’re young, you’ll be more resistant to people telling you what you can and can’t do. When you’re an adult, and people start paying attention to what you’re working toward, you’ll be stubborn enough to just ignore them.
3. Build Your Path
There isn’t always a path to follow. You have to make it sometimes. People may believe you’re insane at times. You’re sometimes just a step ahead of the game.
It’s a dream for a reason, and sometimes realizing your goals necessitates taking a risk and sacrificing everything you’ve got for what you believe in.
Bill Gates felt that the personal computer was the way of the future, that one should be on every desk and in every living room, and that it would revolutionize the way we work and live in unforeseen ways.
4. Don’t Let Success Distract You
Bill Gates’ ability to see past achievements is one of the most important lessons we can take from him. “Success is a bad teacher,” he famously said. It deceives intelligent individuals into believing they can’t lose.”
While it is important to reflect on our achievements, you must be careful not to let them cloud your judgment or make you overconfident.
We shouldn’t disregard the early patterns of our success, according to Gates, but concentrating all of our efforts on why this achievement occurred can leave us unprepared for future challenges.
5. Learn From Your Failures
What good does it do you to blame others for your mistakes? Who are you attempting to deceive? Your mistakes are all your fault; they are not the fault of others, so quit blaming others to absolve yourself of blame.
Mistakes are created so that we might learn from them. You now know what to do or not do in the same situation if it comes up again, and believe me, it will in the vast majority of cases.
“If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.” Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft
6. Never Ignore The Values in Life
When you tell the world what you stand for, you become a lightning rod, attracting those who share your ideals.
Bill Gates drew people to Microsoft who were passionate about improving the world, and they joined him on a mission to improve people’s lives via technology and innovation.
On the philanthropic front, Gates and Bono of U2 share a global commitment to overcoming poverty, sickness, and indifference that goes beyond music.
Bono, Bill, and Melinda Gates were selected “Persons of the Year” by TIME in 2005 for their humanitarian work.
7. Think Ahead
Bill Gates has always been known for having a vision of the future and how it may be larger and better in all of his endeavors. Microsoft has a history of beating the competition because it is always one step ahead of the curve, looking for the next big thing.
Bill Gates was still planning when he retired from Microsoft in 2008. He was concentrating on his philanthropic work, which has resulted in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation having a major positive impact on the world.
8. “Life Is The Best School”
Nothing you learn at university or college can adequately prepare you for life in the real world, no matter how many books you read or how many tests you take.
Real-life jobs and employers don’t require you to study and be taught. You must be able to perform real-world tasks; otherwise, you will be fired. That’s it.
“If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn’t have tenure.” – Bill Gates
