The ScoutOP and Dr Disrespect PUBG stream in 2020

Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch on 26 June 2020. He moved to YouTube and started streaming there on 7 August 2020. Soon after, he announced he would play PUBG Mobile with ScoutOP, who was then one of India’s best-known PUBG Mobile players and creators.

Our original report gave the date of the joint stream as Friday, 21 August 2020. It also said Dr Disrespect’s YouTube comeback stream had drawn a peak of around 5.1 lakh concurrent viewers, figures that were widely reported at the time.

For Indian gaming, the collaboration was a signal. A top international streamer was choosing to play with an Indian creator on the platform where Indian gaming was growing fastest. Salman Ahmed, known as 8bit Mamba, called Dr Disrespect a legend and said the stream showed how quickly Indian gaming on YouTube was rising.

Who is ScoutOP?

Tanmay Singh, known as ScoutOP or Sc0utOP, was born on 30 July 1996. According to his Liquipedia profile, he played for Xspark and then Fnatic in 2019 and 2020, with a short loan to Orange Rock in mid 2020. Our 2020 report noted that his team finished second in PMWL East 2020 during that loan.

He was also a content creator with S8UL from 2020 to 2024. His later teams included Team SouL, TeamXSpark, Team Zero, Wyld Fangs and Medal Esports.

In September 2025 he stepped away from competitive BGMI after BGMS 2025, Sports Digest reported. The break did not last long. Liquipedia lists him as part of the Quantum Sparks BGMI roster from May 2026, and as brand ambassador for Revenant XSpark.

ScoutOP in Bigg Boss 20

ScoutOP’s biggest mainstream moment came in 2026. He entered Bigg Boss 20 on Colors TV, introduced by host Salman Khan at the grand premiere on 6 September 2026, according to Khel Now.

The same report put his following at about 4.4 million on Instagram and over 5 million subscribers on YouTube. He is one of the few Indian esports players to move from gaming streams to prime-time reality TV.

What happened to PUBG Mobile in India

Within weeks of the stream, the game itself was gone. On 2 September 2020, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology banned PUBG Mobile under Section 69A of the IT Act, along with other apps.

Krafton brought the game back as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on 2 July 2021 for Android and 18 August 2021 for iOS. BGMI was removed from app stores on 28 July 2022 after a government order. The ban was lifted in May 2023, and the game has been available since 29 May 2023.

BGMI esports is active again in 2026, with events such as BGIS 2026. Indian players like ScoutOP, who started on PUBG Mobile, now compete and stream on BGMI.

What happened to Dr Disrespect

Dr Disrespect said at the time that Twitch had not told him why he was banned. In June 2024, former Twitch employees said the ban related to inappropriate messages sent to a minor through Twitch’s Whisper feature in 2017. No criminal charges were filed. Beahm has said nothing criminal happened and apologised to his family and fans.

After the allegation became public, he was removed from Midnight Society, the game studio he co-founded, in June 2024. The studio shut down in January 2025.

In November 2024 he signed a deal with Rumble. YouTube restored monetisation on his channel on 30 January 2025 after he reapplied. He continues to stream in 2026.

Why the 2020 stream still matters

The ScoutOP and Dr Disrespect stream came at the peak of PUBG Mobile in India. It showed that Indian creators could attract international names and big live audiences. Six years later, Indian gaming creators are mainstream enough to appear on Bigg Boss, while the game they built careers on survives under a new name.
