Remember the simpler times when we would come back from school, switch on the TV for our favorite cartoon shows, and had to wait for a weekend or a festival to watch the runs and reruns of our favorite movies?
The times when platforms like Netflix and Prime Video were a far-fetched thought? Yeah, those simpler times of Television Premieres.
Today, we took a trip, revisiting the movies we eagerly and very patiently waited for, marked our calendars, and even booked our spots in front of the TV.
Table of Contents
Here’s a list of such movies that we all grew up watching:
*nostalgia loading in…3..2..1..*
1. Jumanji
You’re flipping in through channels, and you see this title and you stop right there because no matter how scary it might feel, this movie definitely gave us the adrenaline rush.
And deep down, we all wanted to play this game.
2. Baby’s Day Out
No lies, this baby had more adventure in one day than we did in our entire lives. And what a brave little man he was? We were scared to go to the washroom at night, and this clever infant gave his kidnappers a nightmare.
3. Zathura
Space travel, board games, and adventures? Well, this movie had the best of all three. The journey of these two brothers was definitely the best way we could spend our summer afternoons.
4. Chain Kuli Ki Main Kuli
Cricket is magic anyways. So anything that involves cricket and magic is our favorite already. We can all simply agree that this was one of those movies that we never had a problem watching the reruns of.
5. Bhoothnath
Amitabh Bachchan as your friendly ghost who haunts the house you are living in? Well, we all wanted to live that life. This movie was a must for every family binge night.
6. Jajantaram Mamantaram
We’ve all read Gulliver’s Travels but watching it with a Bollywood twist? Oh, we have our popcorn ready. Even now. Javed Jaffrey as Aditya, our desi Gulliver? Let’s watch it again.
7. Home Alone
All the adventures, mischiefs, tricks, and strategies aside, how did this guy not cry? I mean, that’s what we’d have done.
But we have to give it to this movie because it was the first one to teach us about self-love and enjoying our own company.
8. Spy Kids
We all wanted those super techy gadgets and became spies. But then life happened.
Haven’t we all just wished to be some secret agent catching the bad guys and saving the world? Ah, good old desires.
9. Stuart The Little
We all want a little friend cum brother like Stuart who wins these cool boat races for us.
Stuart the little was one movie we saw at all times of the day, from breakfast to dinner.
10. The Pacifier
Before Dominic Toretto, Vin Diesel was Shane Wolfe for us. The movie has its elements of comedy, stunts, and action, but we love the way this man takes care of all five Plummer siblings.
