3. Erased

Satoru, a 29-year-old, keeps getting thrown back in time whenever something terrible is about to happen near him. After a murder, he is sent 18 years back into his fifth-grade body and gets one chance to stop a serial killer.

It is short, tense and easy to finish over a weekend.

4. The Promised Neverland

A group of orphans live a happy life in a home run by a caring woman they call Mom. Then they learn the truth: the children are being raised as food for demons. The first season is about their escape plan and the clues they find about the world outside.

5. Castlevania (2017 to 2021)

This Netflix original ran for four seasons and 32 episodes. Warren Ellis created and wrote it, drawing mainly from Konami’s game Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.

6. Great Pretender (2020)

Directed by Hiro Kaburagi at Wit Studio, Great Pretender follows Makoto Edamura, a small-time conman in Japan, who gets pulled into a crew of international swindlers led by Laurent Thierry. It is a fun heist comedy with bright, poster-like visuals.

A four-episode sequel, Great Pretender: Razbliuto, came out in 2024, but it streams on Crunchyroll, not Netflix.

7. Bleach

Ichigo is a Soul Reaper in a story built on ghosts, swordplay and the afterlife. Fans often compare Bleach with Naruto and One Piece for its length and staying power. Expect sword fights, a huge cast and a lot of episodes.

8. Devilman Crybaby (2018)

Masaaki Yuasa directed this 10-episode Netflix original at Science Saru, based on Go Nagai’s manga Devilman. Akira merges with a demon and becomes Devilman, fighting demons while trying to keep his humanity.

It is violent and emotional, so it is meant for adult viewers.

A Netflix original thriller set in a technologically advanced world. An investigator of the Royal Police goes after a serial killer known as Killer B and uncovers a criminal group and human experiments along the way.

10. Eden (2021)

A gentle four-episode Netflix original directed by Yasuhiro Irie. A thousand years after humans vanished, robots run the city of Eden 3. Two farming robots find a human baby, Sara, in stasis and secretly raise her outside the city.

11. Castlevania: Nocturne (2023)

The follow-up to Castlevania is set in 1792 France during the French Revolution. Season 1 arrived on 28 September 2023 and Season 2 on 16 January 2025, eight episodes each. It is a Netflix original, so it streams in India.

12. Blue Eye Samurai (2023)

Created by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green and animated by French studio Blue Spirit, this Netflix original follows Mizu, a half-white, half-Japanese sword fighter disguised as a man, on a revenge mission in Edo-period Japan. It is anime-style rather than Japanese-made. Season 1 dropped on 3 November 2023, and a second season was renewed for 2026.

13. Sakamoto Days (2025)

Taro Sakamoto, once a feared hitman, quit killing for love and now runs a convenience store with his family. Old enemies come after them, and he must protect them without breaking his no-kill promise. TMS Entertainment made the anime, and Netflix streams it worldwide alongside the Japanese broadcast. Both parts of season 1 aired in 2025, and season 2 is set for January 2027.
