The whole Harry Potter cast has finally confirmed that the long-rumored Harry Potter reunion will take place. For the first time since the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 2011, the entire cast will be reunited for a special commemorating the 20th anniversary of the first film, “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts”. And when I say “the entire cast,” I really mean it.
The cast includes Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Wark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Chris Columbus, and more, according to the teaser (which has now been posted by, like, every former HP star with an Instagram).
As fans count down the days until the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts, HBO Max has released a new trailer for the event. Various cast members and filmmakers return to the fantastical world in some of Harry Potter’s most familiar locales in the official trailer.
The streamer unveiled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts last month, and it immediately gained traction when several cast members were announced to return. Fans will be greeted by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, as well as a host of familiar personalities, in the retrospective special, as they remember and celebrate the popular franchises.
The core trio appears in the trailer in the Gryffindor common room, reminiscing about the decade they spent working on the collection of films together.
Watson said, “It feels like no time has passed — and a lot of time has passed.” Grint added, “I think this is the perfect opportunity to sit down with everyone and recollect.”
“What worried me the most was the notion that the most important thing in our lives had been completed.” In the trailer, Radcliffe adds, “There’s something so happy about seeing everyone and being like, ‘It wasn’t, though.”
Bonham Carter, who played the evil Bellatrix Lestrange in the trilogy, shared some of her favourite memories from the set.
The trailer ends with Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson laughing and holding hands in a touching moment.
On Saturday, January 1, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will begin streaming. In addition to the central trio from the film, the special will include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Jason Isaacs, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, Oliver Phelps, James Phelps, Mark Williams, Alfred Enoch, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, Ian Hart, and others from Hogwarts and Hogwarts-adjacent regulars such as Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph.
HBO Max has been on a roll with arranging reunions of popular properties, most recently producing Friends: The Reunion, which featured behind-the-scenes video and table reads from the smash-hit comedy, and a West Wing reunion in 2020 to drive voter registration. Return to Hogwarts will feature talks with creative teams, fresh cast interviews, and comments from J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter.
