1. KGF: Chapter 2
The star of Sandalwood, Naveen Kumar Gowda as Yash, is on his way. You must have heard that dramatic dialogue from the first chapter of K.G.F, ‘Is Duniya Ka Sabse Bada Yodha Maa Hoti Hai,’ from next year’s second part in the K.G.F series, which was once in everyone’s WhatsApp statuses.
K.G.F: Chapter 2 is a period drama film directed by Prashanth Neel that will be released in April 2022.
2. Liger
Liger is being shot in both Hindi and Telugu at the same time. Vijay Devarakonda, a South Indian famous actor, will play a Kick Boxer in the film. Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishnan also star in the film. It will be released in Hindi and Telugu, as well as dubbed Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions.
The film is currently under production. The directors’ first choice for the film was Janhvi Kapoor, but she was replaced with Ananya Panday owing to scheduling conflicts. Puri Jagannadh, a well-known south Indian director, is in charge of the project.
3. Beast
Kollywood actor Vijay will next be seen in Nelson Delipkumar’s third film, Beast. Nelson’s most recent movie, Doctor, grossed Rs 100 crores in just 25 days, and his previous film Kolamaavu Kokila (2018) was also a box office hit.
The film is being produced by Sun Group founder Kalanithi Maran under his own label Sun Pictures, while the music is being composed by well-known music composer Anirudh Ravichander.
4. Adipurush
Prabhas, the South Superstar, has a slew of blockbuster films lined up for the coming year, including the part of Lord Ram in Om Raut’s next film Adipurush. Janaki and Lankesh will be played by Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, respectively.
Om’s most recent film, Tanhaji (2020), was a box office success, making over Rs 360 crores worldwide. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Om Raut will be the producers of Adipurush.
5. Acharya
Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Kajal Aggarwal, Sonu Sood, and Pooja Hegde appear in Acharya, a long-awaited action drama with a budget of Rs. 140 crore. There is also a dispute surrounding the picture, with 2020 writer Rajesh Manduri alleging that the film stole his script, while both production houses have refuted the allegations, claiming that they are unfounded and merely a gimmick.
6. Salaar
This south Indian action thriller is a Kannada-Telugu language film because it was shot in both languages at the same time. The film’s director and producer are Prashanth Neel and Vijay Kiragandur, who also collaborated on K.G.F: Chapter 2, which is ranked first in this list.
It will be released in Kannada and Telugu, as well as dubbed versions of Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil, by mid-2022. It is produced by Vjay’s own production company, Hombale Films.
7. Sarkaru Vari Pata
South Indian Cinema’s Heartthrob Mahesh Babu’s next film is Sarkaru Vari Paata, directed by Parasuram. Parasuram rose to prominence following the box office success of his prior 2018 directorial Geetha Govindam, which garnered Rs 130 crores. As a director and screenwriter, Sarkaru Vari Paata will be his sixth project.
All of the great names from the south appear in this action comedy. S.Thaman, a well-known musician, composed the music, and the film was produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who earlier produced Allu Arjun’s Pushpa.
8. Ramarao On Duty
With his long-awaited action thriller Ramarao On Duty, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja will soon be seen on the big screen. It was originally set to debut on March 25, but due to Rajamouli’s big-budget feature RRR, the release date was pushed back to June 17, 2022.
It stars Ravi Teja as the protagonist, alongside Jai Bhim and Rajisha Vijayan of Malayankunju fame in the lead actress role opposite Ravi Teja.
9. Don
Following the success of his film Doctor, which grossed Rs 100 crore at the box office, fans are eagerly anticipating his next project, Don. The trailer and music for the film also generated a lot of buzz.
Doctor Jodi, Sivakarthikeyan, and Priyanka Arul Mohan’s popular film from 2021 will be re-released on the silver screen. S.J. Suryah, Samuthirakani, Soori, and Bala Saravanan will also play significant parts alongside them.
10. Vikrant Rona
Kiccha Sudeep will next be featured in Vikrant Rona, directed by Anup Bhandari and based on a script written by Anup Bhandari. Shalini Jack Manju and Alankar Pandian, under the banners of Zee Studios and Kiccha Creations, are producing this big-budget film.
Jacqueline Fernandez will also appear in the film. William David and Ashik Kusugolli handled the cinematography and editing, respectively. B Ajaneesh Loknath composes the music.
