April has arrived, and it’s bringing with it a bumper crop of new releases! With inventive films like Richard Linklater’s space coming-of-age tale Apollo 10 12: A Space Age Childhood and Tom Gormican’s action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which features a performance by Nicolas Cage that will dominate your heart, soul, and mind, originality is on full display.
If you enjoy sequels, this is the movie for you. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore reunites the magical gang, while Sonic the Hedgehog 2 introduces us to famous SEGA stars Tails and Knuckles.
In addition, Mark Wahlberg becomes a priest, Ben Foster and Chris Pine reunite, and the cows finally get their due in front of the camera.

1. Sharma Ji Namkeen
Streaming on Prime Video
This film is noteworthy for a variety of reasons. It is the final film of the late Rishi Kapoor, a great actor. It’s also a food movie, and food movies, like all foodies, hold a special place in our hearts.
With a strong cast that included Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Juhi Chawla, Paresh Rawal completed the remainder of the film after Rishi Kapoor’s death in 2020.
Sharmaji is a recently retired middle-class man who is looking for new activities to keep him engaged. He discovers his passion for cooking and decides to pursue it.
2. Runway 34
In theatre on April 29, 2022
This star-studded thriller film, written and produced by Ajay Devgan and starring Amitabh Bachchan, brings the month to a close.
It centers on a bizarre sequence of events that occurs after flying prodigy Vikrant Khanna’s aircraft deviates from its intended path.
The concept and the trailer were both intriguing, and while we can’t comment on the film yet, it appears to be promising.
3. Sonic The Hedgehog 2

What’s red, blue, and fast all over the place? Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the fast-paced sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog, which will explain the apocalyptic events of the first game.
Keep an eye out! Dr. Eggman (Jim Carrey) has returned to Earth to kidnap Master Emerald, but he’s not alone. Eggman is bringing his new pal Knuckles (Idris Elba) along to take down Sonic (Ben Schwartz) once and for all, in addition to his eggcellent mustache.
Sonic is ready to put an end to the psychotic evil with the help of his human companion Tom (James Marsden) and new fox pal Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey).
4. Jersey

While nothing can replace our love for the original film, we’d love to see Shahid add his magical touch to it and revisit this magnificent rendition once more.
The plot revolves around an ex-cricketer who wishes to fulfill his child’s dream of owning an Indian jersey.
Life, on the other hand, has other plans for him, and it is now up to him to either rise to the occasion or continue with his life.
5. Attack
Now in theatre
Attack, directed by Lakshya Raj Anand and starring John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Rakul Preet Singh, is set for a theatrical release.
According to the trailer, Abraham is a soldier combating terrorists with the aid of a supernatural gift that renders him invincible.
The film was meant to come out on January 26 this year, but it was postponed owing to the pandemic. Is Attack going to be a blockbuster now that the instances have dwindled and we’re all getting back to normal? We’ll see what happens.
6. Ambulance
In theatre on April 8, 2022
Medic! The action-packed crime drama Ambulance, directed by Michael Bay and written by Chris Fedak, and based on Danish filmmaker Laurits Munch-film Petersen’s Ambulance, follows the story of war veteran William Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), who needs $231,000 for his wife’s surgery.
Desperate for cash, he turns to his adoptive brother, Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has spent his entire life as a thief and may be able to help him.
However, Danny persuades William to join him in a bank robbery that may net them $32 million if successful. When they shoot an LAPD officer and hijack an ambulance in an attempt to save themselves and the dying officer, their seamless operation begins to unravel.
7. Bheeshma Parvam

Bheeshma Paravam, Mammootty’s Malayalam blockbuster, is a thriller drama about a criminal who decides to leave his illicit job and work as a maritime transporter in Fort Kochi.
His nephews and some old adversaries, on the other hand, band together to exact vengeance for his past wrongdoings.
8. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

Gellert is gaining traction, and Dumbledore is aware of it. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the highly-anticipated third installment of the Harry Potter prequel series, directed by David Yates and co-written by Steve Kloves, the author of the original book series.
It takes place a few years after the events of 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and follows Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) as he attempts to quell the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald’ Knowing he can’t do it alone, he gathers a motley crew, including Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), Aurelius Dumbledore (Ezra Miller), Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), and Professor Lally Hicks (Jessica Williams), to try to avert a full-scale war.
9. Gullak S3

The show is set in a tiny hamlet in North India and depicts the Mishra family’s daily lives.
In the third season, lighthearted vignettes from their daily lives will expose the family’s far from perfect realities and interactions.
The show is a full-fledged package of emotions, love, squabbles, and daily problems.
10. Kaun Pravin Tambe
Streaming on Disney+Hotstar
The cricket drama, directed by Jayprad Desai, follows Pravin Tambe, a promising cricketer who never got an opportunity to play in the Ranji Trophy.
However, at the age of 41, the cricketer is given the opportunity to play in the Indian Premier League, allowing him to realize a long-held ambition.
Pravin Tambe is played by Shreyas Talpade, a well-known Iqbal actor. Ashish Vidyarthi, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Anjali Patil also star in the film.
11. KGF Ch 2
In theatre on April 14, 2022
Rocky, whose name strikes dread in the hearts of his opponents, has taken over the blood-soaked land of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).
Rocky is looked up to by his allies as a savior, while the government views him as a threat to law and order. Enemies are clamoring for vengeance and plotting his demise.
As Rocky pursues his quest for undisputed dominion, he will face bloodier conflicts and darker days. It has a full blockbuster vibe to it, which I hope they don’t spoil like prior sequels.
12. Mai
April 15, 2022, on Netflix
The crime thriller Mai, starring Sakshi Tanwar, is about a wife, a mother, and a nurse whose life is turned upside down when his daughter is raped and murdered.
Sheel, the mother, is played by Sakshi Tanwar, and she becomes immersed in the world of crime and violence to find out who is responsible for her daughter’s death.
Vivek Mushran, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Prashant Narayan also appear in the episode.
13. Mishan Impossible
Already in theatre
Mishan Impossible, a Telugu film starring Taapsee Pannu, tells the narrative of three young lads on a mission to apprehend India’s most wanted fugitive, Dawood Ibrahim.
Rishab Shetty’s entrance in the trailer has taken everyone by surprise since it was unveiled by Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. This film, however, is particularly noteworthy because it marks Pannu’s return to Tollywood.
14. Dasvi
April 7, 2022, on Netflix
The film is directed by Tushar Jalota and stars Abhishek Bachchan as politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary, who intends to take his 10th board examination from jail.
Dasvi also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in important parts.
