8 YouTube movie and TV show review channels to look out for
1. Sucharita Tyagi
Sucharita Tyagi is a Delhi-born film critic and former radio jockey who worked at Red FM, Big FM and Radio City before moving to film reviews. She started with weekly review videos for Film Companion in 2015, under the title “Not a Movie Review”.
In 2020 she launched her own YouTube channel and has worked independently since. She posts weekly reviews under “Ghar Se Movie Review” and also interviews filmmakers and actors. Her style is direct: she tells you how a film made her feel, usually in a few minutes. She is also a member of the Film Critics Guild.
2. Chris Stuckmann
Chris Stuckmann is an American critic and filmmaker, and one of the most watched movie reviewers on YouTube. His channel had about 2 million subscribers as of December 2025. He reviews big Hollywood releases and has a strong following for his anime and animation coverage.
His comedy series Hilariocity Reviews ran from 2013 to 2020. The big change: Stuckmann is now a director too. His horror film Shelby Oaks, crowdfunded on Kickstarter, was picked up by Neon and released in US theatres on 24 October 2025. It got mixed reviews but earned about 8 million dollars worldwide on a small budget.
3. Badal BnfTV
Badal BnfTV is known for reviews that feel like a chat with a friend who has just watched the film. The channel covers recent films and series, and mixes honest opinion with humour.
It works best when you want a quick, fun take on whether a new release is worth your weekend.
4. Shan Prasher
Shan Prasher is known for offbeat commentary on Bollywood. His channel has regular reviews of new Hindi films along with his take on current entertainment news.
If you like a reviewer with a strong personal voice who is not afraid to be blunt, this channel is worth adding to your list.

5. Cinema Beyond Entertainment
Cinema Beyond Entertainment goes deeper than a usual review. It analyses Bollywood films over time, looks at how the industry has changed, and talks about how critics approach a film.
It is a good pick for film students and anyone who wants to understand why a film works, not just whether it is good.
6. Honest Review (MensXP)
Honest Review is MensXP’s review show, where hosts Shubham and Rajesh talk through films in a relaxed, conversational way. Their reviews mix jokes, opinions and comments on current events.
It feels more like two friends arguing about a film than a formal review, which is exactly why many viewers enjoy it.
7. Tried and Refused Productions
Tried and Refused Productions does detailed breakdowns of films and shows. The channel takes films apart in detail and also features interviews with people from the industry.
It is known for its playful tone too, with dance routines thrown in between the analysis.
8. Film Companion (closed in 2024)
Film Companion was founded by critic and author Anupama Chopra in July 2014 and grew into one of India’s biggest film channels, with reviews, interviews and casual movie talk. In July 2024, Chopra announced it was closing after about ten years, with the platform moving into a new long-form unit called FC Studios.
Chopra then became the first editor of The Hollywood Reporter India, which launched in September 2024. In late September 2026 she stepped down as editor and stayed on with RPSG Lifestyle Media as an advisor, with Sneha Menon Desai taking over as editor from 1 October 2026. Film Companion’s old videos are still a useful archive of interviews.
