7 Best Korean Thriller Series on Netflix to Binge Right Now

The best Korean thriller series on Netflix are Squid Game, Kingdom, The Glory, All of Us Are Dead, Hellbound, Bloodhounds and Mask Girl. All seven are Netflix originals, so they stream on Netflix India. They cover survival games, zombies, revenge and crime.

Netflix has put serious money into Korean shows since Kingdom in 2019, and many of its biggest non-English hits have come from South Korea. If you want something darker than a romantic K-drama, start here. The list below runs roughly from the most famous to the less obvious picks.

1. Squid Game (2021 to 2025)

Hwang Dong-hyuk’s survival drama follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a man in debt who joins a secret contest of children’s games where losing means death. It premiered on 17 September 2021 and became Netflix’s most-watched series at the time.

2. Kingdom (2019 to 2020)

Kingdom is a zombie story set in the Joseon era, three years after the Imjin War. Crown Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji-hoon) investigates his father’s mysterious illness and uncovers a plague, while rivals try to take the throne.

Written by Kim Eun-hee, it has two seasons of six episodes each, released in January 2019 and March 2020. A feature-length special, Kingdom: Ashin of the North, followed in July 2021 with Jun Ji-hyun in the lead.

3. The Glory (2022 to 2023)

Song Hye-kyo plays Moon Dong-eun, a woman who spends years planning revenge on the classmates who bullied her in school. She becomes a teacher at the school where the lead bully’s daughter studies.

Written by Kim Eun-sook, Part 1 released on 30 December 2022 and Part 2 on 10 March 2023. It is a slow, cold revenge story rather than an action show.

4. All of Us Are Dead (2022)

A zombie virus breaks out inside a high school in the fictional city of Hyosan, and a group of students is trapped with no help coming. It is based on the webtoon Now at Our School by Joo Dong-geun.

The show released on 28 January 2022 with Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young and Cho Yi-hyun in lead roles. Netflix renewed it in June 2022, and filming for Season 2 wrapped in February 2026.

5. Hellbound (2021 to 2024)

From Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho, Hellbound is set in a world where supernatural beings appear and tell people the exact time they will be condemned to hell. A religious group and a violent gang use the fear that follows to gain power.

Season 1 came out on 19 November 2021 and Season 2 on 25 October 2024, with six episodes each. It is less about scares and more about how people react to fear.

6. Bloodhounds (2023 to 2026)

Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi play two young boxers who take on a ruthless loan shark gang to protect their families. It is the most action-heavy show on this list, with a lot of well-shot fight scenes.

Based on a Naver webtoon, Season 1 released on 9 June 2023. Season 2 came out on 3 April 2026, with Rain joining the cast, according to Wikipedia.

7. Mask Girl (2023)

Kim Mo-mi is an office worker who is insecure about her looks and becomes a masked live streamer at night. One bad decision leads to a crime, and her life falls apart over the years that follow.

Three actors play Mo-mi at different ages: Lee Han-byeol, Nana and Go Hyun-jung. The seven-episode series released on 18 August 2023 and is based on a webtoon of the same name.

Quick guide: seasons and lead actors

A pattern you will notice: four of these seven shows are adapted from Korean webtoons, which are online comics. All of Us Are Dead, Hellbound, Bloodhounds and Mask Girl all started as webtoons before Netflix turned them into series. Kingdom is also based on a comic written by its creator, Kim Eun-hee.
