But like it’s said with great things to come great responsibilities, they have to protect the place and all these short series are a treat to both the eyes and the mind.
2. PREDESTINATION
This one revolves around an agent trying to prevent a bomb from blasting. Easy? Here’s the catch, he has to go back in time to prevent the bomb from blasting.
When Ethan Hawke (the agent) does go back in time to get the job done, a series of obstacles fall his way making it impossible to finish the work at hand. Does he do it? Watch to know.
3. UNDONE
Sci-fi? Check! Is it about time travel? Yes, it is! Is it animated? Yes, indeed! Multiverse and parallel reality? Oh of course!
And a pinch of mental health awareness? Yes, perfect! Want not one but two seasons? Well, yes! Stars the great Roza Salazar. It’s a must-watch. Both the seasons are really good.
4. TALES FROM THE LOOP
A small town built on a machine called ‘the loop’, this series unlocks the mysteries of the world. It makes all the impossible possible.
In the end, it’ll honestly have you thinking if you’re a part of some kind of experiment. It’s mind traveling, it’s the kind that will keep you up all night.
5. THE EXPANSE
This one is based on a famous novel and ran for a solid six seasons. It’s the story (well the future, but it’s a high possibility) when we humans colonize the whole solar system uncovering a conspiracy theory.
And a plus, if you thought politics on Earth was a headache and way too much to bear… then this series has the UN of the moon, Mars government, and parties across the whole solar system.
6. SOURCE CODE
Jake Gyllenhaal’s best performance in this genre for sure. But what is strange? He’s a pilot for the army, and he’s assigned a mission by the government to find a bomber on the train, in 8 minutes.
That’s right, 8 damn minutes… wait it’s about to get stranger as he’s transported into another human’s body who’s in the train when the bomb goes off. Haven’t understood? Watch the movie.
7. 10 CLOVERFIELD CANE
It’s one of those movies shot in one space mostly. In this one, it’s one single room. Crazy isn’t it? It’s a movie in which there’s a mixture of sci-fi and thriller.
It’ll leave you wanting more and more even though it’s mostly a movie that is based on conversation. You should check it out.
8. EX MACHINA
This one will scare you, why? Because it’s the movie in which we humans create robots just so that they can be our end. Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson have delivered a performance that deserves appreciation.
A guy spends a week with the CEO of a tech company. But he finds something different when he gets there. He’s the experimental equipment for an AI robot. Scary? It is.
9. MINORITY REPORT
Tom Cruise and his amazing selection of movies. Sci-fi + thriller + action drama = Minority Report.
It’s a film in which police know even before a criminal commits a crime, but what if they find out that a cop himself will be a future murderer? Interesting isn’t it? Go watch it!
That’s our list of the best sci-fi on Prime. Each one is worth watching and each one is the kind that needs your mind to work at a different (better than usual thinking) thinking level. What are you waiting for? Go right ahead and give yourself a visual treat.
