Hong Kong Disneyland is a compact Disney theme park on Lantau Island that opened on 12 September 2005. It now has eight themed lands, including World of Frozen, the first Frozen-themed land at any Disney park, and rides you will not find elsewhere, such as Mystic Manor and the Iron Man Experience.

The eight lands of Hong Kong Disneyland
1. Main Street, U.S.A.
This is the entrance area, built like a small American town from the early 1900s. It is lined with shops, cafes and photo spots, and it is the best place to stand for the night show in front of the castle. Pick up souvenirs here at the end of the day, not the start, so you are not carrying bags all day.

2. Fantasyland
Fantasyland sits around the Castle of Magical Dreams, which replaced the old Sleeping Beauty Castle and is roughly double its height. Rides here are gentle and good for younger kids: Mickey’s PhilharMagic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and It’s a Small World. Wait times are usually short.
3. Adventureland
A jungle-themed area with the Jungle Cruise, Tarzan’s Treehouse and the Festival of the Lion King, a stage show that is one of the most popular in the park. Check the show timings in the official app as soon as you enter, because seats fill up quickly on weekends and holidays.
4. Tomorrowland
This is the Marvel side of the park. The Iron Man Experience (2017) is a motion-simulator ride over Hong Kong, and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! (2019) is an interactive shooter ride. Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain, the retheme of Space Mountain, is the fastest-feeling ride in this zone because it runs in the dark.
Part of this area is being developed as Stark Expo. A night show called Join the Mission: Scarlet Skies began there in April 2025, and a Spider-Man attraction was announced in August 2024.
5. Toy Story Land
Opened in 2011, this land shrinks you to the size of Andy’s toys. RC Racer swings you up a half-pipe track, Toy Soldier Parachute Drop is a short drop ride and Slinky Dog Spin suits small children. It is one of the most photographed corners of the park.
6. Grizzly Gulch
Grizzly Gulch (2012) is a Wild West gold-mining town. Its main ride, Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, is a family roller coaster that runs forwards and backwards. It is not very intense, so teenagers and parents can ride together.
7. Mystic Point
Mystic Point (2013) is home to Mystic Manor, the ride most fans call the best in the park. It is a trackless dark ride through the house of explorer Lord Henry Mystic, where his monkey Albert opens a music box and brings the collection to life. The ride exists only in Hong Kong.
8. World of Frozen
Opened in November 2023, World of Frozen recreates the kingdom of Arendelle. It has Frozen Ever After, a boat ride with songs from the films, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, a small family coaster, and Playhouse in the Woods, an interactive show for kids. Head here first in the morning, as queues build up by noon.
What is new in 2025 and 2026
Hong Kong Disneyland marked its 20th anniversary with a programme that started in June 2025, including a new daytime parade and a castle stage show. In February 2025 the resort also announced a Pixar entertainment area between Toy Story Land and World of Frozen. No new ride opening date for 2026 had been announced at the time of writing, so check the official site before you book.

- Go on a weekday. Weekends and Hong Kong school holidays are the busiest days.
- Do World of Frozen and Mystic Manor early, then the Marvel rides.
- Use the official Hong Kong Disneyland app for live wait times and show schedules.
- Stay for Momentous, the castle night show with projections and fireworks.
- Take the MTR. The Disneyland Resort line runs from Sunny Bay, which links to the Tung Chung line.
Who is Hong Kong Disneyland good for?
